At the Consultant level, we do not hire specific expertise. Even at the Manager level, we would first and foremost hire smart people, after which we look if they might also have relevant industry expertise as a “bonus” .
If they don’t have consulting experience, then the most important characteristics we’ll screen on are:
- Independent thinker
- Clear, structured, linear-logic thinking
- At ease with numbers (can do basic math in their head)
- Pragmatic, not theoretical
- Self-starter
